Update! The St. Bernard’s community raised over $10,000 for Food for People and brought in over 700 lbs. of food!
The holiday season is upon us and that means the Annual Holiday Food Drive is about to begin next week. Each year State Senator McGuire organizes a food drive to benefit Food for People. Historically, local high schools compete to see who can collect the most food for the community. St. Bernard’s has smashed previous records and won this competition for the last three years. This year — with so much need in the community — all the high schools have agreed to work together rather than against each other. The goal: local families will win. Hungry children will have food.
As you may be aware, Food for People has experienced some challenges this past year with their building and therefore does not have as much storage space as in the past so the focus this year will be on raising money that can then be used to purchase food for distribution.
St. Bernard’s ASB is busy planning our kick-off for next Friday as our Enrichment Workshop. We will have guest speakers, educational opportunities and some fun!
